D & K Collectibles and Cabins started as a hobby business in 1975 in our garage. Dennis and Kathy bought old furniture and refinished and resold . Dennis worked full time in the building trades since 1964. He would do the repair and Kathy the refinishing. In 1982 the garage became too small so they moved to New Sharon, Iowa and opened D & K Collectibles.

Dennis is the master furniture maker , spending most of the day in his wood shop. D & K has a 2000 sq. ft. showroom filled with many handmade furniture pieces and a 1600 sq. ft. basement with Antiques and Collectibles.

In 2007 they added the theme cabins. These rental cabins were built by Dennis and Kathy, along with one of a kind log beds. Right now they have the Wildwood and the Lazy J with plans for 5 more cabins in the future. The cabins each sleeps 4 comfortably.
